South Hills Academy was established in 1957 as an elite private school. Located in a suburb only 30
minutes east of downtown Los Angeles, California, West Covina is a safe, friendly and diverse community.
The school has a brand-new Science Laboratory, large playing field, volleyball courts, and basketball courts.
SHA is committed to preparing students for university and success in life through hands-on exploration,
critical thinking, and collaborative learning. Students learn to problem-solve and become intellectual risk
takers who care about their learning environment and community at large.

Academics
The curriculum at South Hills Academy is based on
California’s Common Core standard. Emphasis is placed
on skills in Reading, Language, Mathematics, Social

use of computers as tools for learning and problemsolving.
